Wijono Tanoko is the President Director of Avia Avian, one of Indonesia’s largest local paint companies. Together with his brother Hermanto Tanoko, who sits as the President Commissioner of the company, the two are the 39th-richest individuals in Indonesia with a reported net worth of $700 million in 2020.

Founded by their father in 1978, Avia Avian has managed to keep a steady hold in the domestic paint market, resisting the pull of multi-national business trying to take over. The company has since expanded to fast-moving consumer goods, property and retail, further diversifying its portfolio.

In 2020, Avia Avian teamed up with Disney to create interior wall paints as well as special-effects paint. This year, the company opened a $769 million initial public offering, making it one of the biggest Indonesian companies to trade publicly in 2021.

President Director Wijono belongs to the second generation of the Tanoko paint empire, and is the eldest son of its founder Soetikno Tanoko. The patriarch died last year, putting Wijono and Hermanto Tanoko at the helm.
