Wendy Ng Yan Yee

One of the key members of Malaysia’s star female diving team


Initially a rhythmic gymnast, Malaysian diver Wendy Ng Yan Yee was spotted by a national diving coach who roped her into the sport when she was 13. She has represented Malaysia for the Olympics, Asian Games and is a multiple gold medallist at the SEA Games, winning her first in 2011 in Palembang for the 3m synchronised springboard event.

Her maiden Olympic outing was the 2012 Summer Olympics in London where she competed in the 3m springboard event where she finished 24. She finished 11th in 3m springboard at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she went through the preliminary round ranking 17, finished 5th place at semifinals and 10th place at the finals.

At her the third Olympic outing, Tokyo 2020, to her dissapointment, she failed to make it through the preliminary round after coming in 20th after a shoulder injury from a training session just days before the competition.

She completed her sports science degree from Universiti Malaya in 2020.
