Changhong Construction was established in 1975 by Wen Zao Li, who worked as a site director in an engineering company. Throughout its nearly 50 years, Changhong has won numerous awards and has built the highest residential buildings in Linkou district, Neihu district, and the central Taiwan masterpiece Changhong Tiaqing in the Taichung Hong Kong Special Economic Zone with more than 600 households.

In 2013, Forbes Asia listed Changhong as the top 200 companies in Asia, while in 2018 Li was selected as one of Taiwan’s top 50 CEOs by the Harvard Business Review. Li worked his way up from a life of poverty, raised by a single adoptive mother. His children have all joined the company, with his eldest son working as Changhong’s general manager, his second son as the deputy general manager, and his daughter as the CEO of Changhong Education Foundation.
