Among Hong Kong’s most renowned classical music figures and one of the most admired operatic tenors in the world, Warren Mok is the founder and artistic director of Opera Hong Kong, which both stages productions and organises educational programmes. Born in Beijing, he is famed for his clear, ringing tone and his mastery of an impressive repertoire of more than 60 operatic roles. Alongside Dai Yuqiang and Wei Song, he is one of China’s Three Tenors; the trio has been touring the world promoting Chinese culture for the past decade. He has also been the artistic director of the Macao International Music Festival, the Fujian Grand Theatre and the Zhuhai Huafa Grand Theatre, as well as a professor at Peking University’s Academy of Opera, Southwest University, Shanghai Conservatory of Music South China Normal University. He is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the holder of a Bronze Bauhinia Star.
