With a master’s degree in electronic engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Michael Wang joined Microsoft ARD in 2005 as a project manager responsible for the development and design of such products as Windows Server and SDK. He set up CooTek in 2008, under which there are two products: TouchPal Keyboard and TouchPal Phone, with more than 1.1 billion global users and 140 technology patents. The TouchPal Keyboard, which has 0.6 billion users, is one of the leading input apps internationally and won the Google Play Best App in 2015. The TouchPal Phone, which has 0.5 million users, has been the largest telecommunication app in China. CooTek is the only Asian company to have won the GSMA’s Best IoT Innovation for Mobile Networks Award and was a finalist in startup competition Tech Crunch Disrupt finishing in the top six. Michael has been named a Global Shaper at the Davos World Economic Forum.
