Wang Changbo’s impressive rendition of a dozen opera pieces composed in different languages and periods won him third prize at the 16th Three Centuries of Classic Romance competition in St Petersburg, Russia in 2018. He was the first Chinese lyric baritone to win the award in 32 years. Changbo has worked with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra on operas such as The Magic Flute and The Barber of Seville. He is also the first-ever Asian professor at musical academy Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
