Wan Pin Chu

Chinese classical musician

At the tender age of seven, Wan Pin started learning a number of bowed Chinese instruments—specifically the erhu, gaohu and banhu—and, before he knew it, he was on the road to stardom. Having won a number of competitions in China and across the globe, including the United States Open Music Competition in 2012, he graduated with honours from King’s College London in music and swiftly secured a scholarship from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts to study at the prestigious Royal College of Music. Wan Pin’s versatility is already well established—his repertoire ranges from traditional Chinese music to Western classical music, and even includes jazz, pop and rock—and he’s already performed for the likes of Prince William and Xi Jinping. Recently selected for a mentoring program with Maggie Rodford, the renowned music producer behind The Lion King, Gladiator and Thor, he clearly has it all to play for.
