Wan Jamila, known professionally as Artjamila, started to draw aged four as a way to communicate with the world. But the self-taught artist, who has autism and was previously non-verbal, soon found herself able to make a career from her intensely detailed, intricately patterned, now award-winning works, which frequently highlight themes related to sustainability and diversity.
