A celebrated contemporary dancer and choreographer, Vu Ngoc Khai is renowned for his ability to bridge cultures through movement.

Khai trained in classical ballet at the Vietnam Dance School (now the Vietnam Dance Academy), completing the rigorous seven-year programme from 1997 to 2004, before refining his craft at Codarts University of the Arts in the Netherlands. His illustrious career has seen him perform across Europe, gracing the stages of prestigious theatres in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Germany and Switzerland.

Beyond his success as a soloist, Khai is a respected choreographer, artistic director and lecturer. His acclaimed works—Non, Day Gieng and Do—seamlessly weave the elegance of classical ballet with contemporary artistry, infusing Vietnamese folk culture into evocative, symbolic narratives. His talent has earned him international accolades, including Actor of the Year at Volkstheater Rostock, Germany, in 2018, and First Prize for Choreography at the Ayang Young Choreographer Competition in South Korea that same year.

Currently, Khai serves as the Artistic Director of 1648kilomet and Director at Pilatesaigon, where he continues to innovate, inspire and champion the arts. His enduring mission is to showcase Vietnamese culture through dance, leaving an indelible mark on the global stage.
