Influenced by her artist grandfather, Vinora Ng went off at 17 to Mod’Art Paris. After unexpectedly winning the Lomba Perancang Mode Award in 2009, she was granted a scholarship to continue her education at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, United States (2010). Vinora went on to start showing at Jakarta Fashion Week, experimenting with her designs until she felt it was time to launch her eponymous ready-to-wear luxury label. She has an exacting-yet-relaxed approach to fashion, and plays with shapes and proportions. To ensure proper proportion, she does away with sketches, insisting on meticulously molding her clothes directly on models. In 2014, she opened her fashion boutique as a space that showcases her clothes and offers a total lifestyle experience. An art enthusiast, she invited notable art collector Wiyu Wahono for a panel discussion about contemporary art at her boutique in December 2014. During the event, she showcased her all-white demi-couture. Each piece was only produced in limited quantity, elevating them into something akin to artwork; one client said she would display her piece inside a Plexiglas box after wearing it! She was awarded the Dewi Fashion Knights award at Jakarta Fashion Week 2017.
