The CEO of independent private equity real estate investment manager Mordril Properties, Vikram Chellaram leads a company owned by his family, who are among the leading players in Asia’s regional shipping industry. He was previously the managing director of another family company, KC Maritime FZE, in Dubai from 2004 to 2010; while before that he worked in asset management for Bank Julius Baer and Deutsche Bank in New York and London.

He is the great-grandson of the KC Group founder Kishinchand Chellaram, who founded the company in Chennai in 1916; it was a trading company for its first six and a half decades, after starting in the textile business, transitioning in the 1980s into the dry bulk shipping industry. Chellaram is also a member of global youth leadership organisation YPO and of research and education organisation the Urban Land Institute.
