Trenton Chen (陳威宇) is the CEO and co-founder of GoFreight, a trailblazer in the global freight operations industry. The Taipei native is an alumnus of National Chiao-Tung University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; and of Syracuse University in New York, USA, from which he received both a masters’ and a PHD in electrical engineering. Chen worked as a senior engineer at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for three years, before he left to helm his own venture, GoFreight, in 2017.

Trenton Chen’s vision is to build the next-generation operational system for freight agents, providing customers with maximum business value, driving continuous growth, and achieving outstanding customer satisfaction. With cloud technology as the backbone, GoFreight not only offers cutting-edge software solutions for global freight agents but also enhances the efficiency and completeness of their business processes. The goal is to surpass traditional standards, innovate industry practices, and lead the $300 billion global freight agency industry into a revolutionary era in this digital age.

Chen’s core management philosophy emphasises the need to drive customer success, but in addition to this customer-centric business strategy, Chen understands that the key to the success of a startup lies not only in technology and strategy, but also in the team behind it. From the beginning, he has placed significant importance on talent within the company and has encouraged Taiwan's top talents to thrive in GoFreight's unique culture and eventually step onto the stage of Silicon Valley and even the world.

Currently, GoFreight has successfully raised $28 million in funding, including a $23 million Series A round led by a Silicon Valley venture capital fund. In 2023 GoFreight received support from the National Development Council and was selected as the representative national startup brand for Taiwan under the Next Big initiative.
