Architect, Co-founder Tropical Space
Architect Tran Thi Ngu Ngon is one of the pioneers of contemporary Vietnamese architecture and is also the co-founder of the Tropical Space architectural office.
Born in 1979 in Dong Nai and graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture in 2004, she has spent more than two decades creating works that bear her personal mark and sustainable design philosophy.
Architect Ngu Ngon has created a series of works with a distinct creative mark - where the modern spirit blends with indigenous culture in a subtle way. Notable among them are Termitary House, Wasp House, Terra Cotta Studio, LT House, Chicken's House or Long An House... These works are proof of the ability to harmoniously combine tradition and sustainable development thinking, contributing to shaping an architectural style imbued with contemporary Vietnamese identity.
In 2025, Architect Tran Thi Ngu Ngon was honored to become one of two female architects in the world to receive the DIVIA Award (Diversity in Architecture) - a prestigious international award to honor women with outstanding contributions to the global architecture industry. This achievement not only affirms her personal capacity, but also brings Vietnamese architecture to the big world, proving that local values can completely become a source of global inspiration.
In particular, the female architect was recently honored with the “Innovation Awards” at the Front & Female Awards 2025, thanks to her pioneering contributions in combining modern architecture with Vietnamese cultural identity.
