Tommie Lo

Tommie Lo is the founder and chief executive of Preface, the Hong Kong tech-education company that uses artificial intelligence to personalise learning for children, adults and corporate teams while extending its classroom into everyday life through Preface Coffee & Wine. An advocate for practical, social learning, he pairs accredited instruction with community programming to make future skills accessible at street level.

Lo engineered a major expansion of the territory’s digital ecosystem by opening the tech education firm’s premium new Central Campus. Across 2025 and 2026, he successfully orchestrated a massive citywide AI literacy drive through the Just Start initiative—rallying more than 30 partners from global tech and local institutions, alongside Hong Kong’s first AI-Q Test—and rolled out high-impact digital tech competitions in collaboration with Manulife, including AI Creativity: Prompt Your Future Career to build students’ digital skills.

Earlier recognition includes an EdTechX Global award, and Preface now counts more than 30,000 learners, a multi-storey headquarters in Causeway Bay and satellite presences in Singapore, Tokyo and London as it scales its model beyond Hong Kong.
