A champion of inclusive beauty and women’s empowerment, transforming lives through confidence and community impact

Czech-born Tomas Hruska leads L'Oréal Malaysia and Singapore with a conviction shaped over 25 years: that beauty extends beyond products to transform lives and communities. Hruska joined L'Oréal in 1999 as a brand manager in his home market of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where he spent his first five years mastering marketing and growing brands before rising to marketing director. His career trajectory took him from Prague to Paris headquarters, then across Europe before his first Asian posting in April 2022.

Since assuming leadership of the merged Malaysia-Singapore operation, the 47-year-old has positioned Malaysia as L'Oréal's regional hub for South Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, accelerating growth while championing beauty as a force for social transformation.

In 2025, he launched Asia's first Beauty for a Better Life Salon in Kuala Lumpur, representing L'Oréal's global programme championed locally with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia and Yayasan Kebajikan Negara. The salon provides underserved communities, particularly B40 individuals, with free beauty and wellness treatments alongside hygiene products that restore self-esteem and social connection.

The initiative builds on nearly a decade of measurable impact: since 2016, the Beauty for a Better Life programme has upskilled 249 women in Malaysia through professional hairdressing and beauty training, with 90 percent securing employment within three months. Under Hruska's stewardship, L'Oréal has maintained its position as Malaysia's top beauty company, while earning Top Employer certification for 2024 and 2025—recognition of his commitment to employee wellbeing and fostering what he calls a “Great Place to Work” culture.

Driven by his vision for a connected, sustainable beauty future, Hruska continues advancing L'Oréal's commitments to carbon neutrality, a shift to renewable energy use and zero waste to landfills, while expanding the Beauty for a Better Life initiative across the region.
