Tirawan “Waew” Taechaubol says that she’s never been promoted since the first day on her job as “Project Development Manager” for Kasemkij, one of Thailand’s leading property development and management companies that includes the Cape and Kantary hotels. The title has remained the same throughout her eight years at the company, even with her managing land acquisition, along with marketing and operations. The Engineering graduate from Chulalongkorn University decided to switch to a Masters of Mangement at Imperial College London, then Unilever Thailand. The art lover is adamant about running the family business in a manner that supports the local community. She’s what one might call a philanthropic businesswoman. Together with her family, she is very much involved in the Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the SOS Foundation, constantly striving to make small changes in the world. Additionally, she and her cousin, who she considers her bestfriend, have started a noodle restaurant chain, Nuer Koo (Thai pun for beef and soulmate), and have opened Camp Curry, a Japanese restaurant. The stylish Thai society darling married Ben Taechaubol, CEO of Thailand’s Country Group Development, with whom she has a young son.
