Tien Hsiang Wen, CEO of the Golden Horse Film Festival, champions Chinese-language cinema

Tien Hsiang Wen is the man behind Taipei’s prestigious Golden Horse Festival. As the company’s CEO since 2009, Wen is a major force in the Chinese-language film industry and has been instrumental in enhancing the value of movies and pushing for contemporary tastes and practices.

Born in 1969, Wen is a famous film critic and writer in Taiwan who started publishing film texts at 16 and started reviewing films as a columnist for Taiwanese newspapers at 20. He served as a program planner for the Taipei Film Festival from 2002 to 2006, a director of the National Film Archive, and a judge for domestic and foreign film awards. Wen also established the Golden Horse Fantasy Film Festival in 2010 and the Golden Horse Classic Film Festival in 2018.
