The managing director and deputy chairman of Hopewell Holdings and a director of its various subsidiaries, Thomas Wu joined the company in 1999. He is the son of the company’s co-founder and chairman Gordon Wu, who established the company in 1972. Thomas joined the company as manager of its executive committee office, and has also been its group controller, executive director, chief operating officer and deputy managing director. Before joining the company, he worked as an engineer for Mitsubishi Electric in Japan.

Thomas Wu is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Environment Bureau’s Energy Advisory Committee, and the Securities and Futures Commission’s Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts. He is a vice patron of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, as well as a non-executive director of Melco Resorts & Entertainment. A member of the advisory council of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School, he was previously a council member of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Baptist University.
