Since the inception of his modern Thai restaurant in 2013, Le Du (the Thai word for “season”), Thitid Tassanakajohn, also known as Chef Ton, has been heralded as one of Thailand’s brightest culinary stars. Le Du debuted on the list of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants in 2017, attaining the number one spot in 2023. In the same year, Chef Ton's other restaurant, Nusara (which opened in 2020) took the number three spot.

Prior to his culinary career, he studied Economics at Chulalongkorn University and worked as an investment banker. However, he shifted to the culinary world after completinghis MBA in Hospitality from Johnson & Wales University in just 18 months. He trained at The Culinary Institute of America, graduating top of his class. He worked at Eleven Madison Park, The Modern, and the Michelin-starred Jean George before returning to Thailand to open his own restaurants, which also include Baan, Backyard and Baa ga Din. Additionally, Chef Ton is a sommelier, certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers.
