Owner and Founder, Triputra Group
The sky is the limit: that is Theodore “Teddy” Rachmat's business mindset regarding his company Triputra Group’s growth, making it no mystery that he is among Indonesia's richest men. Triputra, which Rachmat founded in 1998, is involved in several businesses such as rubber, coal, trading, agribusiness, manufacturing and coal mining.
Today, Rachmat also owns a minority stake in Adaro Energy, a coal company in Indonesia where he sits as Vice President Commissioner. His business journey started with the automotive group Astra International, founded by his uncle, William Soeryadjaya, in 1968. He started working right after finishing his engineering degree from Bandung Institute of Technology.
As of late 2021, his net worth is valued at $2 billion. In 2019, Rachmat was awarded the Bintang Jasa Utama medal of honour from the Indonesian president Joko Widodo, given to those who have made extraordinary contributions to the nation outside the military field. His company name, Triputra, translates to "three children" which is a tribute to his own progeny.
