Dato’ Teng Chee Wai is the founder of Aham Capital and serves as its managing and executive director. Previously a fund manager, he was initally hesitant to run the asset management business when approached by the then Hwang-DBS management team. Nevertheless, he took up the challenge and 20 years on, he has contributed to the growth of Aham Capital into one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing independent investment management firms, with over RM80 billion in assets under its administration.

A hands-on leader, he manages the overall business, sets strategic directions, and oversees the investment team, encompassing investments, product development and marketing. An NUS alumnus with a career spanning over 30 years in the finance industry, he is also the director of Bintang Capital Partners—Aham Capital’s private equity subsidiary.
