This conductor is orchestrating the future of the orchestra

Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski will become music director of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in the 2026/2027 season. He is also music director of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, and serves as principal guest conductor with both The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Rotterdam Philharmonic. His first music director post was with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, and he conducted his first Wagner Ring cycle aged just 22. He records exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon; his debut album was released in 2024.
