Tanyamai, a news anchor for Thai public broadcaster MCOT, created Trawell a couple of years ago to promote sustainable tourism as a solution to poverty in Thailand’s rural areas. One of the winners of this year’s Facebook Social Entrepreneurship Award, it matches communities with people who can help them harness their skills and wisdom to bring in income. Trawell also works to introduce tourists to the cultures of local people.
