Line BK is the first online banking service on a social media application in Thailand

Tana Pothikamjorn was appointed CEO of Line BK in 2019, heading the digital bank of the Japan-based messenger app Line. Labeled “social banking”, the online banking service was designed to meet the demands of modern life, offering convenience and speed in financial transactions and credit services.

Line BK has garnered around 5 million users, with nearly 50 per cent residing in Bangkok and its metropolitan area and the remaining customer base spread across different provinces. This aligns with Tana Pothikamjorn's aim to extend financial inclusivity to areas where access to credit is challenging, and to cater to independent entrepreneurs and to populations with lower incomes.
