A key player in one of the largest companies in Malaysia, Deputy GCEO Tan Boon Lee of IGB Berhad is spearheading a first in the healthcare meets hospitality development in the country

A member of a prominent real estate family, Tan Boon Lee, the deputy GCEO of IGB Berhad has been an integral force in the group’s property and hospitality projects for nearly three decades, including one of its more recent key developments, ReU Living in MiCasa Hotel, a post-hospitalisation recovery retreat.

An economics graduate, Tan joined IGB as executive director in 2003, and in 2008 became the CEO of IGB subsidiary Tan & Tan Developments Berhad, a position he held until 2019. Besides being the deputy to his cousin, Group CEO Dato’ Seri Robert Tan, he also joins him on the IGB board. In 2018, Tan made headlines for raising RM300,000 in aid of the national-debt relief fund Tabung Harapan Malaysia by organising a fund-raising dinner known as Cook for a Cause.
