Encouraging the masses to embrace art and design is a noble goal, but not an easy one to achieve. Not that it has stopped Talenia Phua Gajardo from making a success out of The Artling, an online Asian contemporary art gallery, which features over 1,000 artists and close to 200 galleries on its platform, and recently completed a project for Google Singapore’s headquarters. The entrepreneur's passion for hunting down beautiful things takes her on adventures filled with architecture, design and cars. She also helms Luxglove, a marketplace for pre-loved luxury items or vintage collectibles. Collectively, The Artling and Luxglove carry a portfolio worth over $120m. In 2017, The Artling acquired Artshare, a Chinese-focused e-commerce art platform, with the hopes that it can further extend its reach in Southeast Asia as well as China.
