TWG Tea's founder also imported sister brand Bacha Coffee, which has it roots in Morocco

TWG Tea co-founder, CEO and president Taha Bouqdib started the much-loved global luxury beverage brand with Indian businessman Manoj Murjani in Singapore in 2007. A subsidiary of The Wellness Group at the time (hence the “TWG” in its name), the fledgling label quickly made its mark with a myriad of exotic flavours, positioning itself as the “first and only upscale tea salon” in Singapore.

TWG’s 800 blends and tea-infused cuisine were refreshing additions to the local culinary scene, attracting discerning diners who flocked to its outlets in droves. Today, TWG Tea is part of wellness group Osim, and is a multi-million-dollar corporation with more than 70 physical stores in 17 countries, an online presence in 58 countries and more than 3,000 employees.

Bouqdib is also the owner of Bacha Coffee, a Moroccan brand that offers over 200 single origins, coffee blends and flavoured coffee varieties. It has five outlets in Singapore, all of which sport sumptuous interiors that channel the Dar el Bacha palace in Marrakech.

In 2021, Bouqdib and Osim founder Ron Sim announced that they were bringing TWG and Bacha under the banner of the new V3 Gourmet Group, with an investment of about US$100 million (S$136 million) over three years and an eye toward expanding their offerings to other retail and F&B brands under the affordable luxury category.

The French-Moroccan businessman is an active supporter of and donor to charities and social causes, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation Singapore and the UN Women’s Fund for Gender Equality.
