Sun Ruixiang

In 2004 Ruixiang Sun set off for Paris to pursue a career as a photographer. There he ended up working for Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel, and shooting portraits and fashion for British magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Another and Marie Claire. Settling in Shanghai in 2012, Ruixiang focused on portraiture and experimental films, later serving as the official portrait photographer for Vogue – China and Italy editions. Specialising in the photography of movie stars and celebrities, Ruixiang also worked with many notable fashion designers. He is particularly experienced in shooting pictures related to art and sport. In 2016 Ruixiang established Portfolio 31 Studio in Shanghai, and took part in an experimental show Solitaire/Paper Card. In the same year, a Kun Opera-style portrait that he created for Louis XIII in Paris was collected by the Senate of France. It was also in 2016 that he held the Home · Town Photo & Art Exhibition at Alfred Dunhill, Bourdon House in London. Ruixiang shot portraits of the Chinese National Men’s Football Team in Shenyang in August 2016. Later in 2016 he released his portrait collection Look Up.
