For documentaries that highlight social issues

Su Jiaming’s 2011 documentary Fading Flowers touched viewers with its portrayal of an elderly couple who adopted 39 children with different degrees of disability, and caught the attention of acclaimed directors Xu Ke and Jia Zhangke. He followed it in 2014 with documentary 72 Hours, shot in Tibet, and in 2018 he released Love Letters, focused on rural life in China. He has also created a VR system that allows people to experience how it feels to be autistic.
