Steve Wang graduated from the Department of Business Administration of the National Taiwan University, with a major in corporate management. In 2011, he co-founded Activator Co., Ltd with renowned producer Lieh Lee and cultural entrepreneur Tien-Tsung Ma, aiming to provide professional integrated services for Taiwan’s film and cultural industry. The company’s services include film planning, production, marketing, distribution and copyright sales. Since its establishment, it has marketed and distributed over a hundred theatrical films, including titles like Jump Ashin!, Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above, Zone Pro Site, Detention, Incatation, and more. They have collectively generated over NT$1.2 billion in box office revenue.

In recent years, the team has made significant contributions to the Taiwanese cinema scene with movies it has been involved in producing, such as the documentaries Formosa 3D, Late Life: The Chien-ming Wang Story, Chen Uen, and feature film I WeirDo. Its project A Family Tour won the Million NT Investment Award at the 2021 Golden Horse Film Project Promotion. In 2020 and 2022, Activator Co., Ltd received the Best Film Marketing Award at the Taipei Film Festival Offsite Screening for its outstanding marketing achievements with the films Detention and Incatation, respectively. The company is widely recognized as the leader in Taiwan’s film marketing industry.

In 2017, Wang was invited by Homme Tsai to co-establish the New Media and Entertainment Association (NMEA) and served as executive supervisor. The association holds the annual New Media Summit to facilitate industry cross-border collaboration and international exchanges.
