Stella Chang transforms her brilliance on stage into love offstage

Stella Chang is a queen of Chinese pop music. Following the release of her debut album in 1985, Chang quickly garnered attention. In the 1990s, she released a number of acclaimed albums, many of which surpassed one million copies in sales. With her clear, soaring voice, her vocal prowess has long been recognised by the music community. From 1990 to 1999, she was nominated for Best Female Vocalist at the Golden Melody Awards seven times, winning Best Mandarin Female Vocalist at the 6th and 8th Golden Melody Awards.

After marriage, Chang devoted much of her energy to philanthropy and helping the disadvantaged. She held charity sales, photography exhibitions and played concerts to support children with rare diseases and other vulnerable groups.

In 2020, Chang teamed up with jewellery artist Cindy Chao to organise a charity event. Celebrities from entertainment and business circles were invited to attend the event comprised of a photography exhibition, charity jewellery sale and gala dinner, with hundreds of millions of funds raised for children with rare diseases.

In 2025, Chang served as the public welfare spokesperson for the construction of the long-term care campus of Puli Christian Hospital. She visited the local area many times and saw many people in need of help, going on to join hands with several charitable organisations to raise funds for the hospital and donate to the long-term care centre construction project.
