Co-owner, Eat and Cook
Chef Soh Yong Zhi showcases Malaysian heritage through the dishes he is proud to present at his restaurant, Eat and Cook. Together with co-owner and fellow chef Lee Zhe Xi, the duo aims to provide the restaurant’s patrons with a uniquely Malaysian experience.
At the start of the pandemic, they lost their jobs but used the opportunity to open Eat and Cook. While the team faced difficulties, they slowly gained a loyal customer base.
Located in Bukit Jalil, Eat and Cook serves an omakase-style menu and in 2022, the restaurant was named winner of the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ One To Watch Award, which celebrates innovation, potential and excellence.
