A second-generation entrepreneur shaping the Naza Group’s growth across automotive and property sectors
Datuk Seri SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin leads one of Malaysia's most diversified family-owned conglomerate that spans automotive distribution, property development and construction. With 17 years at the helm, he is bridging traditional automotive distribution with digital innovation, property development, and clean energy ambitions to create a multi-sector business built for the next decade.
In 2025, he orchestrated one of Naza Group’s most significant transformations with a comprehensive operational realignment of Naza Auto—improving efficiency, profitability, liquidity, governance and compliance across Malaysia's automotive industry. Under his direction, Naza Auto is doubling Suzuki's dealership network over three years. He led the company's electric vehicle (EV) initiatives in 2024 by partnering with Petronas' Gentari Green Mobility. This collaboration positioned the company at the forefront of Malaysia's EV transition, actively shaping it rather than passively reacting.
Simultaneously, the August 2025 opening of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown—developed through partnership between Hap Seng Land and Naza TTDI—signals the group's real estate credentials, with the 410-room property designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
Naza TTDI is also executing an ambitious pipeline with RM3.5 billion in gross development value, including township projects across Kajang, Shah Alam, and Puchong that will deliver affordable homes to premium residences.
Driven by his vision for a diversified, operationally excellent conglomerate, Nasarudin continues to champion disciplined growth that improves efficiency and market positioning across sectors. His leadership reflects Naza Group's evolution from a single motor trading operation in 1975 to a regional force reshaping Malaysia's automotive and property landscape.
