After politics, Sisy Chen continues to wield influence through her TV show Sisy’s World News

With her deep network of political connections and ability to land revealing exclusives, Sisy Chen remains an influential figure in media and public affairs covering Taiwan’s politics and international relations.

A politician, journalist, feminist, and author, Sisy Chen was born in Ludong Town, Yilan County, Taiwan. She started her media career as a writer for the American edition of China Times at 23, and later as editor of the political opposition’s New Tide magazine. When she turned her sights on politics, she became director of the Cultural Propaganda Department of the Democratic Progressive Party, a spokesperson for the Democratic Progressive Party, and a non-party legislator.

Chen is currently an academic staff at the Department of Information Communication at Asia University. Outspoken and critical of wrongdoing in government and society, Chen hosts the weekly show Sisy’s World News on TV and the daily UFO Dinner on radio. In 2020, she launched a podcast covering the presidential elections. The podcast resumed in 2022, covering politics, the world economy, and environmental issues such as global warming.
