Her ability to easily explain even the most intricate recipe endears her to young viewers today. Born and raised in Surabaya, she studied at Trisakti School of Tourism Jakarta with a hospitality diploma. Afterwards, the 1949-born food expert earned a scholarship from the American Institute of Baking in Manhattan. Even though she has the experience of studying culinary arts globally, her passion has always been traditional Indonesian food.
