Simon Cheong is chairman and chief executive of SC Global Developments, a property firm he established in 1996 after striking out on his own following roles in real estate at Citibank and the former Credit Suisse First Boston. Cheong steered SC Global Developments to become an established player in the luxury real estate space in the years since, making a name for the firm with developments such as the freehold Hilltops apartments in Orchard Road, the striking Sculptura Ardmore and The Marq condominium on Paterson Hill.

SC Global Developments started out as a real estate and hotel advisory and direct investment group, before Cheong took it public in 1999 and positioned it as a leading high-end residential developer in Singapore. The firm, which is typically known for properties with large, spacious units, also branched out to smaller units in 2018 with its Petit Collectibles collection. Petit Collectibles’ first project was Petit Jervois in River Valley, with 55 units mostly comprising one- or two-bedders.

Cheong, who holds a Master of Business Administration in finance and investments from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering degree from the University of Washington, is also an independent director of Singapore Airlines.
