Sheila Lirio Marcelo is a well-known figure in the internet consumer marketplace. With a leadership experience that spans 20 years, the entrepreneur was a former venture partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and is a founding board member of The American Foundation (TAAF). She is a pioneering force spanning the eras of Web1, Web2, and Web3. With over two decades leading in technology, Sheila founded Care.com in 2006, a groundbreaking marketplace connecting caregivers with employers offering fair wages. Under Sheila’s leadership, Care.com scaled to become the most prominent global marketplace connecting families and caregivers. Notably, in 2014, Lirio Marcelo became the first Asian American woman to have founded and taken a company public in the US, joining a select group of women. Lirio Marcelo was CEO and Chairwoman from establishing to 2020 when IAC acquired Care.com.

In late 2021, Lirio Marcelo embarked on another venture, co-founding Proof of Learn, a company focused on next-generation technologies to create social impact. Driven by the objective of democratising high-calibre education globally via blockchain and AI innovations, this venture further underscores her commitment to transformative solutions.

Lirio Marcelo's newest initiative is Ohai.ai, a cutting-edge technology startup leveraging AI to improve the lives of families. The product is in stealth mode, with a launch expected in early 2024. The Ohai.ai team consists of early employees of Care.com, data science and AI experts, and product and engineering leaders from beloved consumer brands.

Lirio Marcelo earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, conferring an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in 2015. She has a J.D. and M.B.A. with honours from Harvard University. In 2014, Lirio Marcelo became the youngest Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award recipient.
