Shabnam Arashan is the assistant director of the Legal Aid Bureau and formerly the director of family-owned business Selat Offshore. She was inducted into the Singapore Tatler Fashion Hall of Fame in 2015 and received the Singapore Tatler Award for Style that same year.

Arashan believes that style, like her home decor and the art she collects, is “an extension of yourself”. She is an avid lover of couture, with an interest in Lebanese designers such as Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad. She also subscribes to the confidence-boosting power of red lipstick. Above all, Arashan champions individuality. “Know yourself,” she advises. “Find what works for your skin tone, your body—even if it’s just a T-shirt and jeans.”

The mother of one shuttles between Singapore and Dubai, where her lawyer husband, Rajendran Kumaresan, is based.
