SDI Academy, the edtech social enterprise founded by Sazzad Hossain, aims to promote socioeconomic mobility and reduce communication barriers among migrant workers and refugees in Singapore. It uses both in-person and digital methods as well as extensive data analysis to create courses covering areas including communication, IT, financial literacy and entrepreneurship that help these communities assimilate into the mainstream. It has trained more than 8,500 students, with corporate partners including DBS, Singtel, Ikea and Tolaram Group.
