Startups led by all-male teams still receive 88 percent of venture capital funding. Sarah Chen-Spellings’ Beyond The Billion consortium of venture funds is restoring balance with its pledge to invest more than $1 billion into female-founded companies. It has got about two-thirds of the way there, with investments in nearly 800 companies including unicorns Canva and Everlywell. Sarah previously set up the venture capital unit of Malaysian conglomerate Sime Darby.
