Sakson Rouypirom

Founder, SATI

Sakson has combined his passion for philantrophy, art and Muay Thai to form SATI, a non-profit platform that connects volunteers to help those in need. The American-born-and-raised Sakson has a psychology degree from NYU, but decided against becoming a doctor, returning to Thailand to establish SATI (Bhuddist word for mindfulness). To keep SATI sustainable, Sakson partnered with Broccoli Revolution (vegan restaurant) and Case Art Space (co-founding art space). The Art Space is an outlet where the public can learn multidisciplinary subjects through exhibitions, and activities such workshops, talks, and documentary nights. With the proceeds from these partners, SATI works with organisations like The Hub Saidek to provide activities like Muay Thai classes, and had a celebrity collaboration with ONE Championship in April. Through these classes, he hopes to educate underpriviledged children on the importance of healthcare, sanitation, and creativity. More pertinently, he want to nurture their sense of self-worth and choice. Working with schools, they have initiated SATI water filter project and scholarship programs. Currently, Sakson is heading a runaway youth awareness programme. He is also working on a weekly clinic for at-risk youths, focusing on planned parenthood, STI awareness, and drug prevention.
