Since 1971, Sabana Prawirawidjaja is one of the founders and now the President Director of PT Ultrajaya Milk Industri Tbk. He was also the president commissioner of the Campina Ice Cream Industry from 1995 to 2017. His educational background is in the general management program from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Together with his father, Ahmad Prawirawidjaja, Sabana founded the initial milk company in 1958 in Bandung. At that time, milk production went to waste because milk processing was too simple. Sabana succeeded in making Ultrajaya a pioneer in the urgently needed preserved UHT milk in Indonesia, as the technology was relatively new. Under Sabana’s leadership, the company has also diversified its production to include individually packaged drinks such as Teh Kotak, Sari Kacang Ijo, and Sari Asem Asli. The enterprise shows no sign of slowing down, even in the pandemic. Last year, the company saw a 9.2 per cent increase in its net profit, landing Sabana on the 34th spot of 2020 Indonesia’s 50 Richest according to Forbes.
