Ruth Yeoh is a staunch advocate for sustainability, which she champions in YTL

Ruth Yeoh is executive director of real estate firm YTL Singapore and director of YTL-SV Carbon, YTL’s carbon credit and clean development mechanism consultancy. She leads the sustainability division at YTL, publishing its sustainability reports on an annual basis, among other tasks. Yeoh is also behind Climate Change Week, the firm’s flagship educational campaign on climate change.

The eldest child of Malaysian billionaire Francis Yeoh, Yeoh’s devotion to sustainability for YTL has won the multi-disciplinary firm various awards, including the inaugural Singapore Environmental Achievement Award (Regional) from the Singapore Environmental Council in 2012.

Yeoh is an investment committee member of the Asian Renewable Energy and Environment Fund. She is also a board member of Reef Check Malaysia, which is dedicated to protecting coral life in Southeast Asia.

She has written for the Wall Street Journal Asia and Financial Times and has authored and co-edited a book on climate change entitled Cut Carbon, Grow Profits: Business Strategies for Managing Climate Change and Sustainability published in 2007.
