Ruby Lin

A household name in China and Southeast Asia, actress, producer, and pop singer Ruby Lin rose to fame as Xia Ziwei in My Fair Princess (1998), which was shown across the region. Dubbed “Taiwan’s TV Drama Queen”, Lin made her acting debut in a TV commercial at 17 in 1993. She has been regarded as entertainment royalty since.

In 2009, she established the Ruby Lin Studio, producing TV dramas and films starring herself in Mainland China and Taiwan. She won Best Producer at the 2012 TV Drama Awards Made in China for the first TV series she produced, The Glamorous Imperial Concubine.

Her studio continues to produce critically and commercially acclaimed projects, such as Forgetfulness and 16 Summers, which won multiple recognitions at the 50th Golden Bell Awards. Her latest project, the suspense drama First Light of the Chinese Lantern, is streaming on Netflix.

Apart from acting, Lin has six studio albums. Her singing debut, Heartbeat, was released in 1999. However, her most recent accomplishment is graduating with an MBA in marketing management from Shih Hsin University in 2021, at the age of 45.
