The country programme coordinator for UN Women Philippines brings over 25 years of experience
Serving as the country programme coordinator for UN Women in the Philippines since 2022, Rosalyn Mesina brings over 25 years of experience in advancing women's issues and causes both locally and internationally.
From 2012 to 2017, she served as the executive director of Enrich, a non-governmental organisation based in Hong Kong. Her efforts helped Enrich become one of the most recognised charities providing economic empowerment through financial education and personal development programs for migrant domestic workers and ethnic minorities.
In her role as the country programme coordinator, Mesina has been pivotal in promoting the Women Empowerment Principles, which guide businesses in empowering women in various sectors. This includes ensuring equal treatment in the workplace, promoting women's health and safety, and enhancing professional development opportunities for women. One of her notable national projects is the “Women in the C-Suite” research paper on factors affecting women's leadership in Philippine corporations. Mesina has also developed a framework for the gender-based violence observatory of the Philippine Commission on Human Rights, which aims to monitor and address violence against women more effectively.
As the UN Women Philippines programme manager for the 'WeEmpowerAsia' program, Rosalyn Mesina is a key figure in promoting women's economic empowerment through private sector engagement, entrepreneurship, and the adoption of women's empowerment principles.
