Roger Wu started his career in construction as a cement worker by trade, but by 1980 he had established Lih Pao Group as a joint venture. Lih Pao has become a force in the construction industry, one that constructed various hotels, shopping malls, and residential complexes in Taiwan.

Among its portfolio projects are the Fu Rong hotel chain, Lih Pao Resort Park and Outlet Mall, and Lih Pao International Circuit. Some of its current subsidiaries include Lih NTD Construction, HWV Construction, Pengchen Construction, and Fu Rong Development.
