He may be best known for his business acumen, but Robert Coyiuto Jr’s enduring legacy lies in his vision for progress—one built on innovation, resilience and a commitment to nation-building. At just 29, he took the reins of Prudential Guarantee and Assurance Inc (PGAI) in 1982 following the passing of his father, transforming the fledgling company into one of the country’s foremost non-life insurance firms. Four decades on, Coyiuto continues to steer the group as chairman and CEO, expanding its reach into energy, finance and luxury automotive ventures.

As chairman and CEO of Prudential Guarantee, Coyiuto continues to shape the Philippine insurance landscape while simultaneously steering PGA Cars, the country’s exclusive distributor of Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, and Bentley. Beyond business, he also holds a significant stake in the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), a vital player in the nation’s energy infrastructure. NGCP’s ongoing PHP160-billion capital expenditure programme aims to modernise the country’s power grid through smart technology, underscoring Coyiuto’s role in shaping the future of Philippine energy.

A firm believer in the transformative power of technology, Coyiuto has channelled his philanthropy into education and innovation. His PHP60-million donation established the Robert Coyiuto Jr Centre for Integrated Technologies in Batangas, while NGCP’s TECHKID initiative continues to equip schools nationwide with computer laboratories.

Recognised internationally for his contributions, Coyiuto was conferred the Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia in 2019, underscoring his role in strengthening Italian-Filipino business relations.
