Without a doubt, Rina Ciputra inherited the business savvy of her late father, the real estate tycoon, Dr Ir Ciputra (born Tjie Tjin Hoan). She began working in the family business back in the ’80s and rose the ranks to assume the top executive roles that she holds to this day.

Apart from the property business, a shared interest in the arts formed a deep bond between father and daughter, both of whom are regarded as serious collectors of contemporary art. These days, Ciputra is kept busy conceptualising programmes for Ciputra Artpreneur, the CBD-based multi-disciplinary arts venue founded by the elder Ciputra, which hosts Disney musicals and Broadway shows as well as a hefty dose of art.

Occupying the top three floors of Ciputra World 1’s retail wing, Artpreneur has a theatre, art museum, gallery and multi-function rooms. At the venue, Rina Ciputra has staged musicals, art shows, concerts and dance performances, to make Artpreneur a fitting remembrance of her father’s great love for art.
