Hip-Hop Artist
The artist formerly known as Rich Chigga, Rich Brian, is still shaking up the hip-hop scene
Like many success stories for the new generation, Rich Brian—born Brian Imanuel Soewarno—made it big by going viral. His most famous song, “Dat $tick”—which he released through the online platform SoundCloud in 2016—became an international hit when it was noticed by music label 88rising.
The label made a reaction video to the song featuring other hip-hop artists, and Brian became a household name. The song now has almost 200 million views on YouTube.
In 2018, Brian launched his first album, Amen, which made it to the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart. The album’s success made him the first Asian to reach number one on iTunes’ hip-hop chart.
Brian released content on various social-media platforms before experimenting with hip-hop music in 2012. Brian recorded his first rap song on his iPhone. He has collaborated with many artists like 21 Savage, Kris Wu and Joji. At just 22, Rich Brian has already made a significant splash in the international hip-hop community.
