Huang RenJie graduated from the architecture research school at the Royal College of Art. His work has been displayed at the V&A in the UK, Downtown Design in Dubai and the 3D Printing Show in Athens, Greece. In 2015, he co-founded Architchen together with HanYuan Tsao. The team combines formula calculation and digital fabrication, as well as new technology and traditional process in its design, to present the perceptual beauty of various data and parameters. In 2017, working with Apu Jan, the team completed its first product – APUJAN Chongqing Store. With a curved ceiling and a ceramic island countertop designed using 3D printing, the pure-white space of the store is full of high-tech elements. The project won the 2017 SDA BEST 100 and the COTTONTREE PRIZE – Best Modern Space Design Award. In 2018, the team officially released a series of ceramic works designed by algorithm, which were displayed at Creative Expo Taiwan.
